Garden Mural

A mural I created in my bedroom to liven up the space and create work without any real constraints. I worked on it for a period of nine days, without a prior plan in place and kept building on the concept as I went along, one plant at a time. Materials used were chalk, glossy wall paint and paint markers.

PROCESS PHOTOS

This mural was created along the lines of a 'Family tree' concept, but expanded into a garden instead. It represents the amalgamation of dreams and reality, where each plant is alternatively either a real species found in nature or one I made up on a whim. This duality brings in the children from my mother's and father's families, as either realists or dreamers, depicting myself at the base of the trees on either end of the garden - as a compound of the two qualities.
